Welcome to my world of storytelling!

Karolina Larion

“Sharp. Observant. Slightly dangerous.”

About Me

“Driven by curiosity, shaped by the world.”

Karolina was born in Ukraine and raised in Berlin, so she’s always understood identity as something fluid - shaped by environment, culture and perspective. With fluency in German, Russian, English and nine years of French study, she is a true multilingual talent.

She finds freedom in exploration. Traveling is a vital part of her life. Every place she visits shifts how she sees the world, fueling her constant pursuit of growth. Bold by nature, she loves taking risks and making the most of every moment. Life is short, so go on that adventure! Those are the qualities that led her to pack her bags one day and move to New York City, a place she’s never even visited before.

Outside of acting, Karolina expresses herself through painting and takes pride in being a fantastic cook. At her core, she is observant, intuitive, and deeply curious about what drives people beneath the surface.

“I’m interested in characters who don’t ask for permission’”

After finishing her bachelor's degree in European Media Science at the University of Potsdam, Karolina moved to NYC for a 2 year conservatory program at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Post graduation, she acted in numerous plays across NYC theaters.

Karolina plays intelligent, self-possessed women who understand power and how to use it.

Her work blends grounded realism with a sharp, slightly dangerous edge - think Anna Delvey from Inventing Anna, Shiv Roy from Succession or Villanelle from “Killing Eve”.

At the same time, she enjoys fast paced, smart comedy that plays with rhythm and point of view such as Midge Maisel from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

With a background in dance, she approaches characters physically as well as psychologically.

She is drawn to work that is current, layered and unafraid.

Her archetypes range from ambitious outsider, strategic social climber, intelligent disruptor to sharp professional and enigmatic socialite.

“I speak 4 languages. Movement is one of them!”

Storytelling has always been part of how Karolina expresses herself, not just through acting, but movement as well. Dance, a narrative without words, was one of her first tools to communicate emotion. That physical awareness still informs how she approaches characters today.

Karolina is a versatile dancer who has over 20 years of professional dance experience in Latin American ballroom, classical ballroom, ballet, salsa, bachata, heels dance and more.

She also worked as a choreographer on projects such as “Dream on, Baransky” off Broadway musical, Cabarets, stage performances and music video collabs with NYU Tisch. In addition, she loves creating wedding dances for the couples and make their special day even more magical.

“Karolina Larion takes on the role of Cordelia, whose actions at the top of the play start a chain reaction leading to her father’s descent into madness and despair. Larion’s expressive face and performance beautifully portray the punished daughter’s sadness and her later resolve to make things right and attempt to rescue her betrayed father..”

“It’s hard to imagine anyone else portraying Darlene Winters than Karolina Larion because she’s so amazing in the role.  She’s such a good dancer that she choreographed the fantastic dance numbers as well. ”

“Not only did Karolina Larion give a dazzling performance of Starlet Darlene Winters but she choreographed the show as well.  The dance numbers were exquisite.”

Jane Culley and Karolina Larion each took a turn as Lady Macbeth. Larion perfectly captured the character’s descent into madness, screaming “Out, damned spot!” to the stars after the horrible act has been carried out.

“Faces, written by D. S. Burrows, is a short little comedy about some truly awful people … shows a meeting between Frank (Jason Duval Hunter) and his boss Darla (Karolina Larion) … Darla’s rather questionable hiring methods and in general make a very comedic, ridiculous, and strongly compelling case for an HR rep. Hunter and Larion are hilarious!”

“On a lighter note, Karolina Larion added a touch of spicy physical comedy to her lovely Player Queen.”

“…the performances were captivating, dynamic, and engaging. They captured the best of the passion Shakespeare is capable of.”
